Christmas at First Presbyterian

All are welcome as we celebrate Christ's birth

The Longest Night is a worship service scheduled around the winter solstice, the longest night of the calendar year.

The service acknowledges that sometimes Christmas is marked by darkness, loneliness, sorrow, alienation, and sadness.

As we gather for worship, we will acknowledge and claim our feelings, creating space to name our grief and pain and brokenness. There are no magic words to fix all that is broken in our lives and our world, but when we name it, we can then search for a glimmer of light in the darkness.

Join us for our traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve service as we celebrate the birth of God's Son, Jesus Christ.

We will join in song together, hear music from our choir, and reflect on God's greatest gift to the world.

All are welcome at the service, including children of all ages!
